Open Ph.D. Positions for Fall 2024
SMARTEN Lab at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Oklahoma State University, is seeking highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our dynamic team. As a PhD student in our lab, you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge research, working on the development of machine/deep learning-based end-to-end communications systems for current and next-generation applications, including 5G, 6G-beyond, and THz communication technologies. The research process will encompass both theoretical advancements and practical implementations, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of wireless communication.
Responsibilities:
Conducting independent and original cutting-edge research.
Developing and improving theoretical models, algorithms and methodologies related to the design, analysis, and optimization of communication systems, including Tx & Rx operating in single/multi-carrier mode, channel modeling, and protocol stack.
Real-world/practical prototyping and implementations of the developed communication systems.
Conducting experiments and data analysis under various conditions and use cases to draw meaningful conclusions.
Collaborating with team members.
Publishing research findings.
Research Proposal Drafting.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Strong background and interest in wireless communications, machine/deep learning, signal processing.
Strong proficiency in programming languages (Python, C++, etc.) and experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
Good communication skills and a track record of academic or research achievements.
